Lazio captain Lucas Biglia says former Coach Stefano Pioli has not tried to tempt him to Inter.

The ex-Biancocelesti boss was recently confirmed as Frank De Boer’s successor at San Siro and has already been linked with transfer moves for some of his former players.

However, speaking after Lazio’s 3-1 win over Genoa, Argentine Biglia said he had not spoken to Pioli since his appointment and revealed he would meet Stadio Olimpico officials to discuss a contract extension.

However, speaking after Lazio’s 3-1 win over Genoa, Argentine Biglia said he had not spoken to Pioli since his appointment and revealed he would meet Stadio Olimpico officials to discuss a contract extension.

“Pioli has not called me. I wish him luck in his adventure at Inter,” Biglia told Premium Sport.

“He gave a lot for Lazio, let’s not forget about that.

“The renewal? There will be a meeting and when whe sit around the table to discuss it we will see.”

Biglia also stated that Lazio, who are now fourth in the table following an eight match unbeaten run, are targeting Champions League football next season

“I just want to think about playing. The target is to get into the Champions League.

“It is our objective and also the club’s.”
