Lucas Biglia does not seem prepared to let an ugly incident with a Lazio fan ruin his contract renewal.

The captain was absolutely enraged after Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Chievo and had to be held back by stewards and staff.

He tried to climb into the stands to reach an ultra who reportedly spat at him.

Lazio youth team player Mamadou Tounkara was in that area of the stadium and he too had to be held back by by-standers as he attempted to physically attack the fan.

There were concerns this incident could affect Biglia’s negotiations to extend his contract to June 2021.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Argentina international has shrugged it off and will commit his future to Lazio.

He’s set to earn €2.8m per year, plus bonuses.
