As well as this morning's report by the Gazzetta dello Sport on the double duel between the two clubs for Icardi and Lorenzo Insigne, almost all media outlets in Italy are presenting a version of the story, sometimes with slight differences between them.
Tuttosport reports that a new meeting was held yesterday between intermediaries of the two clubs. Specifically Giuseppe Pompilio, the right-hand man of Napoli's sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, and Ulisse Savini, who acts as the link between Napoli and Icardi's wife and agent Wanda Nara, came together just outside of Bologna.
In the summit, Napoli formalised their offer of €60m plus €2m in bonuses for the 23-year-old. This claim, however, stands in contradiction to what is being reported by Sky Sports Italia, according to whom the offer has not been officially made to Inter.
The report by Sky seems to indirectly imply that once the offer is officially presented and the recipients are able to evaluate it, Icardi's status as 'unsellable' could come in question.
Similarly, the Neapolitan periodical Il Mattino believes that an opening for a transfer could be in sight. Wanda Nara has apparently been insisting with the club that the striker wants to head for Napoli, and rather than being turned down, this time she was deferred, being told that the decision could only be made by the CEO of Suning.
