FIGC President Giancarlo Abete says he will “not even consider” delaying the start of the Serie A, B and Lega Pro seasons amid a betting scandal.

There are fears of a second Calciopoli after a betting ring was accused of attempting to fix games.

“I will not even consider the possibility of delaying the start of the season,” declared Abete, who is also on the UEFA executive committee.

“There is enough time to complete the investigation. UEFA are very sensitive to the issue of match-fixing, but this is a world problem.
