Federico Bernardeschi says he has achieved nothing yet in his career as he prepares to return to parent club Fiorentina.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed an excellent season on-loan at Serie B club Crotone, with his form earning him a call-up to Cesare Prandelli’s 42-man Italy test squad last month.

However, speaking to the Viola’s official website, the attacking midfielder spoke of the need to continue working hard if he is to compete for a first team spot in Vincenzo Montella’s side next term. He also advised his former youth team teammates to do the same.

“I personally have had a good season in Serie B,” Bernardeschi said. “But I have still done nothing and I need to work hard.

“What I can say to my ex-teammates is that senior football is a completely different type of football.

“You need to run more, but it’s better because you experience incredible emotions. I hope that in the future they can experience it too.”
