Pescara Coach Cristiano Bergodi prepares for his debut against Roma and warns “I need warriors” to achieve safety.

The former Modena and Cluj tactician was drafted in this week after Giovanni Stroppa tended his resignation.

“The first impact has been positive, as I found a group that is prepared to work and I hope that I was able to give the lads some input.

“It’s true I have only been here for four days and it’s not easy in such a short space of time, but I already knew Pescara because I had played here.

“I expect to see great determination from everyone, as I need warriors who are ready to give their all in every game. That is the only way we can avoid relegation.

“As for entertaining football, there will be time for that, because right now we just need points. I have not spoken to Stroppa, as I wanted to get to know the team myself.”

Pescara-Roma is a very special occasion, as it means the return of Zdenek Zeman, the Coach who took the Delfini to promotion last season.

“I hope Zeman will be welcomed with a great deal of applause for everything he did here. I worked with him when I was a player in his Lazio side and will gladly greet him.”
