Il Gallo scored the equaliser and then rounded out the scoreline after Lorenzo Pellegrini’s header in the Euro 2020 qualifier.

“Of course it means a lot to me, representing Italy is the best and I don’t want to stop now,” the Torino striker told Rai Sport.

“I am happy with how the season is going so far, and our Euro 2020 qualifying campaign. I must do everything the Coach says to ensure I am ready to show what I can do on the field when called upon.

“I thanked Emerson for the cross! It was a tough start for us, as Armenia were very aggressive and the pitch was not in great condition, while their season has already started some time ago.

“Their chances were all on the counter-attack, but we slowly took control and could’ve had more goals, including one I missed badly, but fortunately we were able to turn it around.

“I scuffed one chance, while on the other I expected it to be nice and delicate, ready to be swept in, but it arrived quicker than I thought it would and I was wrong-footed.”

Belotti would’ve had a hat-trick, but his goal in stoppages was incorrectly ruled offside.
