Andrea Belotti hinted he’s ready to start alongside Ciro Immobile when Italy visit Macedonia on Sunday.

The Torino striker and Lazio forward made all the difference when coming off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Spain.

“When Ciro and I came on, we wanted at all costs to turn the game around. We tried to give all we had, even for only a few minutes on the field, and fortunately we were able to get an equaliser,” Belotti told Rai Sport.

“I already played half a season with Ciro last term, so we get along very well and I think it was clear from tonight as well that we play well together.

“The Coach makes his decisions. I just need to be ready when called upon, whether it’s from the start or off the bench.

“Every player hopes to start, then if the opportunity arrives it’s a wonderful feeling.

“When we visit Spain, we must resume from what we saw in the second half today, as when we play with more courage we can cause them real problems. They are a very strong side, but not unbeatable.”
