“I hope I won't have to be out for a long time again,” said Fiorentina winger Valon Behrami ahead of tests on his knee injury.

The Swiss international limped off 15 minutes into last night's 0-0 draw with Bulgaria after spraining his right knee.

Initial tests excluded damage to the meniscus and cruciate ligaments, but the collateral ligament situation is still unclear.

“I already snapped my cruciate ligament in the past, but this problem is different,” said Behrami.

“Perhaps it's the collateral ligament. I've never had surgery on that area of the knee before.

“I just hope I won't have to be out for a long time again.”

It's reported the Fiorentina man could be out for around six weeks if there is damage to the collateral ligament.
