The Beneamata bravely fought to come back and win the match, but a quick counter from the three youngsters Federico Valverde, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo made sure all the spoils stayed in the Spanish capital.
“We are certainly disappointed with the result,” Bastoni told Sky Sport Italia. “We made mistakes that cost dearly in these matches.
“The third goal broke our legs, and we are very disappointed. The matches are made by the small details.
“Today, like on other occasions this season they went against us.”
Inter are struggling in front of goal this term and when they finally scored two, they didn’t manage to hold on to the point and left Spain empty handed.
But despite having picked up only two points from three games, the young Italian believes Inter can go through to the knockout stages.
“We must work to understand why it happens so often,” he said. “As long as we mathematically have a chance, we believe in it."
