“Am I worth €20m? That’s what a true prodigy is worth,” the Gambian teen told La Repubblica.

“My debut in Serie A against Crotone? When Gasperini called me to go on, I was excited, probably too much.

“The words of Gollini, the reserve goalkeeper who was on the bench with me, were decisive.

“He said, ‘calm down, go and play as you know, this is your day.’ I breathed a sigh of relief and settled down.

“I saw Icardi closely in the tunnel once and said to myself: I want to be like him. Against Lazio, I turned around, there was Milinkovic-Savic and I thought: he’ll want to do something for his name but also I have to do something for mine if I want to be at his level.

“With my teammates, I’m more carefree. I only have to think about scoring. In Serie A, the problem isn’t the game but the head because you have to do lots of things.

“You have to be quicker, more physical and help the team. If you go wrong, the Coach gets angry.

“The fans whistle you and you must try to make them happy and give them something to cheer about because they came for you.”
