The Bianconeri are in their first final in the competition since Lippi led them their in 2003, and the Coach warns they will face a truly great team.

“[Coach] Luis Enrique is remarkable for the way he reinvented Barça,” the World Cup-winner told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He’s managed to fit in the three phenomena [Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez]. They seem to have found a subconscious agreement.

“Suarez and Neymar recognise that Messi is the leader, they work for him, and in exchange they receive assists which he was not giving before.

“That trident is the strongest at the moment, and Barcelona – I’ve been saying this for a while – are the best team of all time.

“They have the quality, the mentality, the style, and in addition to the club successes [their Spanish players] they have a World Cup and two European Championships.”

Lippi also discussed the future of Juventus, and believes it is not a foregone conclusion that Paul Pogba will leave.

“I don’t know if he’ll leave, but if Juve want to build around him then they won’t let him. However, [Coach Max] Allegri is right, he needs to showboat less.

“It drives me crazy when he runs at speed and stops to cut his opponents into slices.

“Dybala? He’s brilliant, he doesn’t have a great physique, but he’s strong, determined and has a [left] foot which can do anything.

“Whether as a target man or a second-striker, he’s a top striker. Juve must think about having five strikers in the squad.

“[Domenico] Berardi and [Simone] Zaza [of Sassuolo] I really like, and they fit with the philosophy of the Italian bloc.

“It’s not coincidence that when I won with Guangzhou [Evergrande] the team was full of Chinese players.

“Teams with 11 players from five continents can’t have the same moral and psychological steel, the same sense of belonging.”
