After Fiorentina confirmed they’d sell Juan Guillermo Cuadrado for the right price, Manchester United lead, but Barcelona have a plan.

Viola patron Andrea Della Valle met with Cuadrado after the post-World Cup vacation and publicly stated the situation.

“If an important offer were to come in we would have to let him go,” Della Valle told reporters. “The boy is honest and serious and if the offer comes in we’ll let him go.

“However, I have reiterated that he could stay another year. The chances of him staying? I don’t know but it will be difficult to keep him.

“Some offers could come in next week. The negotiations will be done very openly, we won’t hide anything.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, Manchester United are leading the race and could well match Fiorentina’s €40m asking price (around £32m).

However, Tuttomercatoweb have a different idea, as they maintain the Tuscans could agree to sell Cuadrado to Barcelona in July 2015.

That would allow Fiorentina to make the most of Cuadrado’s services for one more year and give the Blaugrana time to find Dani Alves a new club.

They can also count on the Colombian international’s desire to play for Barcelona rather than Manchester United, as he feels he’d settle in better in Spain than England.

Fiorentina have a deadline in mind to have the situation sorted out or give Cuadrado an impressive contract renewal, making him the top paid player at the club with €3m net per season.
