Could Italy and Parma star Sebastian Giovinco join European champions Barcelona this summer? His agent thinks so.

The forward, part-owned with Juventus, has been linked with the Nou Camp outfit given that a move away from the Tardini at the end of the season seems likely.

“Barcelona’s interest is not strange and I can’t rule it out,” representative Claudio Pasqualin commented.

“It means that the player is doing really well at Parma and we are enormously honoured by it.”

The agent, however, insisted that it was perhaps premature to discuss possible destinations for his client.

“It’s too soon to talk about certain things, even if anything can happen in the transfer market,” Pasqualin noted. “There is time.

“The only certainty is that Giovinco is totally focused on Parma because he wants to do well and is a serious professional.”

There is also the possibility that Juventus may re-sign him completely as a replacement for Alessandro Del Piero in Turin.

Giovinco, 25, has had his most convincing season in Serie A so far thanks to his 10 goals in 28 appearances.
