Andrea Radrizzani and Matteo Manfredi are close to finalising their takeover of Sampdoria but they’re not across the finish line yet, needing to reach agreements with banks and agents.

Tuttosport details how the Blucerchiati are still not registered for the upcoming Serie B season and have until June 20 to complete their application to the league. The key factor still missing is the approval of the debt restructuring, which has dropped from €150m to between €80-90m.

The involved banks are hoping to obtain better conditions than the ones presented by Radrizzani and Manfredi before signing off on the deal. Also blocking the takeover are agents, who are owed around €21m between commissions and agreements from recent seasons.

The first proposal made to the various creditors, brought forward by the Board of Directors, has a debt recovery with variable percentages of up to 70%. With the agents, however, this percentage has not yet risen above 50%, leading to a clear refusal, not wanting to spread the debt over three years.

The involved parties are now negotiating to find an agreement, keen to finalise proceedings before the deadline to register for Serie B.
