Mario Balotelli should respond today to Palermo's ultimatum as Napoli turn down a loan offer.

The striker is frantically looking for a new team to avoid spending a season on the bench with Liverpool.

According to Rai Sport and Tuttosport, agent Mino Raiola offered Super Mario to Napoli on a free loan, but he was turned down by president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

There remains the Palermo option to be considered. The Sicilian side would welcome the 26-year-old with open arms, but they are not willing to pay his €7m gross salary.

Their contribution will be limited to a maximum of €1m net, with the rest to be covered by Liverpool, but they expect an answer to their offer today.

Should Balotelli turn down their deal or simply remain silent for too long, they will turn their attention to Sassuolo's Diego Falcinelli instead.
