It looks increasingly likely that Balotelli has played his last game for hometown club Brescia, less than a year into this experience.

Over the last few weeks, he has repeatedly either missed training or worked separately from the rest of the squad.

After he was sent home by the club at the gates for trying to train while still signed off by a doctor for gastroenteritis, he then returned to work in an entirely separate area of the training ground.

Agent Raiola accused Brescia of never giving Balotelli a single COVID-19 swab, unlike the rest of his teammates, which the forward confirmed via Instagram.

This prompted a FIGC inspection and the club’s furious response warning they would sue both men for ‘slanderous accusations.’

SuperMario was off training again today, insisting via Instagram that he was ‘sick’ with the same recurring gastroenteritis.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there was no need for a doctor’s note, as Brescia themselves told him he could just stay home and rest.
