The striker completed his transfer to Turin on Friday, penning a contract until June 2012.

“Anything can happen in football,” shrugged the Coach. “There were some misunderstandings; perhaps he was no longer relaxed here, so we are happy for him.

“We've got to be more clinical in front of goal and Mattia Destro does have the characteristics to be a centre-forward. He has been sacrificing himself for the team in a support role so far.”

Genoa take on Cesena and Ballardini is keeping the side relatively unchanged from the one that drew with second-placed Lazio on Thursday.

“I usually take a packed fixture list into account, but there will be very few adjustments in Cesena. We must be focused against a team fired up by its victory over Brescia.

“I'd like to see the same level of aggression we had in the second half against Lazio.”

Giuseppe Sculli is back in the squad for the first time since suffering a thigh strain three months ago, while it's between Gergely Rudolf and Richmond Boakye on who will partner Destro in attack.
