Davide Ballardini believes Genoa were ‘unlucky’ to lose this afternoon’s Serie A clash with Udinese.

Despite enjoying the lion’s share of the opportunities, the Griffone were beaten by Valon Behrami’s second half winner for the Bianconeri.

“We played well. We were tenacious but unlucky,” Ballardini said after the 1-0 defeat.

“Today our goalkeeper didn’t make a save but just as we took points in other situations when we didn’t deserve to win, today we accept what happened on the pitch.

“There are only a few matches where we have struggled to be dangerous. We just need to train a lot and look to attack with more players in order to create problems for the opposition.”

Today’s result leaves Genoa fifteenth in the League table, four points above the relegation zone.
