Khouma Babacar has appeared to rule out a move away from “second family” Fiorentina after admitting that he had a trial with Inter.

Reports last week suggested Babacar was considering his options at Fiorentina due to Nikola Kalinic being Paulo Sousa’s undisputed No 9, but he has since stressed his happiness at the Artemio Franchi, while making a revelation about his past.

“I came to Italy for a tournament and some clubs took me on trial, first Inter then Genoa and finally Fiorentina,” the striker told ViolaNews.

“In Florence, I found a second family. I’m fine here, although my home is in Senegal.

“My relationship with the fans? They’ve put up with me for nine years! They’re fantastic, the Fiorentina fans will always support us and we want to give them lots of happiness.

“My back-heel goal in Udine? It was very beautiful and important to me.

“My first goal in Serie A [becoming the youngest foreign player to score]? It was an amazing thing, I stole the ball from the Genoa defender and I scored.

“I didn’t celebrate because my legs were shaking. My best traits? Physicality, strength and goals.”
