The Azzurri started out the Japan match with a 4-3-2-1 system that had Emanuele Giaccherini and Alberto Aquilani supporting Balotelli, but replaced the Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”11″>Fiorentina midfielder with forward Sebastian Giovinco after just 30 minutes.

Some changes are now forced, as Andrea Pirlo has a calf injury and Daniele De Rossi is suspended.

The training session also saw the system mutate with the same players into a 4-2-3-1 with Aquilani and Montolivo in midfield, Candreva on the right of a trio with Diamanti and Marchisio supporting the centre-forward.

Meanwhile, Stephan El Shaarawy skipped training after bruising his left foot.

As for Brazil, David Luiz has been passed fit despite breaking his nose in the 2-0 win over Mexico, though he could be rested as a precaution.

Lazio midfielder Hernanes is expected to start, as Paulinho sprained his ankle, while Jo and Lucas could step in for Fred and Hulk.
