La Stampa newspaper claims an Australian businessman has offered to buy Genoa football club.

Current patron Enrico Preziosi has expressed frustration on several occasions after the side narrowly avoided relegation into Serie B.

He has decided not to renew the contract of Coach Davide Ballardini and is looking for an alternative on the bench.

This morning La Stampa newspaper published a report suggesting an offer has come in to buy out the club from Preziosi.

The proposal arrives from a rich Australian magnate who has approached Preziosi’s entourage, but there are no names mentioned.

It is even rumoured the reason Preziosi has not made steps forward on the Coach situation is to do with these takeover talks.
