After defeat to Fiorentina, Piero Ausilio comments that ‘this is not Inter’, but Erick Thohir is reportedly having a first reflection on Walter Mazzarri.

The Nerazzurri where defeated 3-0 in Florence on Sunday evening to turn what was a promising start to the season into a disappointing one that has them spending the international break in 10th position.

After the game, the club’s sporting director reflected on the issue and revealed the club had already spoken with the Coach and team.

“We made a point in the dressing room, with the Coach and the players, that the situation is not enjoyable, we wanted an awareness at a time that is not easy,” Ausilio commented post-match.

“There are issues, including at a physical level, but we will solve them. We have a sense of responsibility, we want to work, we will work harder.

“This is not Inter, we will give more, we will come out of this. We hope that the streak ends here.

“After Cagliari I believed it was a hiccup, the game here has made us think – we have some physical issues, the team is not running and other things.

“We have spoken with the Coach and the players. We will get out of this, because we have an experienced Coach and together we will solve all the problems.”

The Corriere dello Sport today report that President Thohir will likely use a meeting this week with technical director Marco Fassone and CEO Michael Bolingbroke in London, otherwise scheduled in attendance at a conference for business in sport, to privately assess Inter’s crisis and Walter Mazzarri’s position as Coach.

Even so, the Rome publication also asserts that Mazzarri is unlikely to be at risk of the sack just yet.
