Inter director Piero Ausilio insists there is ‘no chance’ to see Chelsea striker Armando Broja join the Nerazzurri in January.

Reports in Italy claim the 22-year-old forward is on the Nerazzurri’s radars for the winter transfer window as both Marko Arnautovic and Alexis Sanchez have yet to score this season, not to mention that the Austria international has suffered a severe injury which will keep him out of action for several weeks.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Ausilio attended an event organised by the Albanian Football Federation on Tuesday but ruled out interest in Broja.

“I am sorry, but it’s not true because we are happy with the strikers we have,” he said.

“I know Broja, I know he is recovering from a severe injury and that he has scored a goal. I hope he will be important to you from Thursday, but there is no chance [to see him] at Inter.”

Broja suffered a severe knee injury last summer but has recently scored his first goal this season in a 2-0 victory against Fulham.

Another Albania international, Kristjan Asllani, is already playing for the Nerazzurri, and Ausilio predicted a bright future for the 21-year-old.

“He was signed because we think he can be an important player for Inter, even if he’s very young and without much experience,” said the Inter director.

“Like all young players, he needs time. We believe in him, including the coach. We let Marcelo Brozovic leave in the summer to give him more space. We also have Hakan Calhanoglu in that position. Asllani is playing, and the national team experience will make him stronger. We firmly believe in him.”

Asllani, a former Empoli midfielder, has played 126 minutes across six appearances this season, four in Serie A and two in the Champions League. His contract at the Stadio Meazza runs out in June 2027.
