“We won on Wednesday against Torino, but went close to not winning it and that would’ve been an injustice. I saw a positive Inter and Mauro Icardi’s late goal rewarded us for the quality of our football,” Ausilio told Mediaset Premium.

Gabriel Barbosa and Jovetic were not included in the trip to Genoa, but do not appear to be injured. What is the situation?

“De Boer expects something more from Gabigol and Jovetic. For Gabriel, we need him to understand what Italian football is about and that he will give more. For now, he has to be led by the hand.

“We have a lot of quality in the side, especially upfront. Lately the Coach has been focused on a 4-3-3 with a midfield that has both quality and experience.”

What of reports in Le Parisien newspaper today that Inter directors met with Verratti’s agent?

“Oh yeah, we already signed him,” joked Ausilio. “You can only speak highly of him, but we know how solid the Paris Saint-Germain project is.

“There are no Coaches or directors out there who don’t like Verratti, as he is a treasure of Italian football.”
