The captain’s comments in the Corriere dello Sport interview on Saturday raised quite a few eyebrows and got reporters digging for clues.

However, Spanish newspaper As and Italian paper Il Mattino claim the only real contenders for Insigne are Atletico Madrid, who would offer in the region of €50-60m.

This is a long way off the asking price of €100m, although agent Mino Raiola is hoping to reduce that to €80m.

Liverpool and Arsenal were linked, but do not appear to be preparing a bid anywhere near that price-tag.
