Cerci only moved to the Spanish capital from Torino in the summer, but has seen speculation rise on an immediate return to the peninsula amid early struggles to find regular playing time under Diego Simeone.

Roberto Mancini’s arrival at San Siro has prompted talk of Inter taking interest in a potential January move for the 27-year-old, and Tuttosport report that Atleti are open to negotiations, if they would be for a permanent sale and not a loan deal.

Mauro Icardi’s name is also mentioned by the Turin publication, as well as by the Corriere dello Sport today, as a potential point of discussion between the two clubs too.

However, both Tuttosport and the Corriere dello Sport surmise that Inter are unlikely to be willing to consider a possible exchange deal, or any scenario that would see Icardi depart in the winter.

Subsequently, with Marco Fassone yesterday commenting on the financial impact of now having two Coaches on the payroll, a move for Cerci is seen at the moment as unlikely to come from the Nerazzurri.
