New signing Ederson was on target as Atalanta beat Serie B side Como 4-0, but the ‘friendly’ was played behind closed doors due to concerns over public safety.

The format for this match was adjusted several times over the last few days, as initially it was meant to be at the Stadio Breda in Sesto San Giovanni, then ticket sales suspended due to fears of clashes between the sets of fans.

It was then moved to Atalanta’s Zingonia training ground in Bergamo with a small number of fans present, before yesterday’s announcement it would be behind closed doors.

The first half ended 0-0 and Atalanta only broke the dam after 65 minutes with Jose Luis Palomino’s header on a Jeremie Boga corner.

Duvan Zapata knocked down the ball for summer signing Ederson moments later.

Sam Lammers impressed as he set up a chance Mario Pasalic should’ve scored, did provide the assist for Zortea’s volley and completed the 4-0 result himself after a great mazy run through defenders.
