Gian Piero Gasperini says the only thing missing from Atalanta’s performance against Fiorentina was a goal.
La Dea secured a goalless draw at Artemio Franchi but had chances to claim a rare victory in Florence on Sunday afternoon.
“We were just missing the goal today,” Gasperini told reporters. “We had a lot of chances but we are still very satisfied with the match.
“Atalanta haven’t won in Florence for many years and today we went very close.”

Fiorentina’s performance was widely criticised by fans and media, but Gasperini believes his team deserve more credit than they are getting.
“I hope it was because of Atalanta if Fiorentina played like that. People said the same to me when we played Napoli.
“We were good with the ball and we defended well. I still think there are lots of areas for improvement.”
