Atalanta have announced that their last two home games of the season, against Genoa and Sassuolo in May, will be at the Mapei Stadium.

The Stadio Azzurri d’Italia in Bergamo is undergoing restructuring work this summer.

In order to accommodate the building crew, Atalanta will play their final two home fixtures at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio-Emilia, which is usually the home of Sassuolo.

This is nothing new for the Orobici, who used the Mapei Stadium as their base in last season’s Europa League run, because the Azzurri d’Italia does not meet UEFA standards in its current form.

The Serie A encounters with Genoa on May 12 and Sassuolo on May 26 will both take place in Reggio-Emilia.

Curiously, that means the final clash with Sassuolo will see both playing on ‘home’ turf.
