Stefano Colantuono admits that Giacomo Bonaventura is ready for a big club, and that he could be one of those sold by Atalanta this summer.

The winger has been one performer this term for La Dea increasingly linked with an exit at the end of the season.

“Bonaventura and our other jewels? Some of our ‘jewels’ will leave, as is customary for Atalanta,” Colantuono began this week to Tuttomercatoweb.

“It is physiological for our type of club. We have several in the squad who have been pushing and perhaps someone will leave.

“It is physiological for our type of club. We have several in the squad who have been pushing and perhaps someone will leave.

“Bonaventura is the most likely to leave. He has grown a lot and is ready for the jump to a great club.

“German Denis? He has already measured up against the big clubs, here he has found his natural habitat and unless there comes a major offer, he will see out his career with the Nerazzurri.”

The 51-year-old was asked what the secret was to Atalanta’s success this term and whether he will be looking to prolong his stay with the club.

“There is no secret, only work, a club that is present, with managerial and technical staff that are important.

“We have so many important players. And are one of the best run companies among the small-to-medium clubs.

“Ours has been a season that has been more than positive, with consideration to our targets, which earlier this year was something difficult to hope for.

“Here we are playing and we will continue to do so until the end. I have had some extraordinary years in Bergamo, from the season we began on minus six points that provided us with great satisfaction to the current campaign, in which we have achieved a significant string of victories.

“My future? These are dynamics that I do not decide, but that the market does. In Bergamo I feel good, if offers arrive then I will consider them first with my President.”
