Stefano Colantuono considered his Atalanta side to have ‘flirted with perfection’ in defeating Napoli yesterday 3-0.

La Dea were comfortable winners in Week 22 against a Vesuviani outfit much changed by Rafa Benitez, with one eye on the midweek Coppa Italia semi-final.

For Atalanta’s Coach, however, his side were more than deserved victors for their own efforts.

“Yesterday was a beautiful Atalanta, against a great team. We flirted with perfection,” Colantuono has commented today on Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport.

For Atalanta’s Coach, however, his side were more than deserved victors for their own efforts.

“Yesterday was a beautiful Atalanta, against a great team. We flirted with perfection,” Colantuono has commented today on Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport.

“Our season objectives? We could aspire to something more in the season if we had a different schedule on the road.

“If we can become dangerous away from Bergamo then we could look at something else. Right now we are thinking about 40 points.

“Napoli? For respect for my colleagues I never speak about opponents. I’ve heard much of the changes Benitez made, but the only absence that they perhaps felt was that of Higuain. Hamsik was replaced by Pandev, who is not just any player. Higuain only was felt because whilst Zapata is a great player for the future, now there is a difference between the two.

“Yesterday there was an Atalanta side balanced, ready for the game. I do not think that they snubbed us, as historically we have always made life hard for Napoli.”
