Jeremie Boga turned down a move to Leicester City in the final hours of the summer, but Atalanta could push him back towards England in January.

The former Sassuolo winger has made only four appearances this season in Serie A for a grand total of 57 minutes of football.

He has been something of a flop since his €22m move from Sassuolo in January 2022 and Atalanta were said to be eager to make the sale when Leicester City approached them on deadline day.

However, it was reported that Boga had turned down the transfer, as he was eager to prove himself in Bergamo.

Given so few opportunities to shine by coach Gian Piero Gasperini, it is likely that the 25-year-old Ivory Coast international could change his mind come January.

If Atalanta are unable to recoup the investment, then a loan is also possible to get Boga’s confidence and fitness levels back.

Curiously, he has been replaced in the Atalanta line-up by Ademola Lookman, who spent last season on loan at Leicester City from RB Leipzig.
