Police arrested 16 people this morning accused of contributing to a betting ring that tried to fix games in Serie A, Serie B and Lega Pro.
Among those under investigation are Atalanta captain Cristiano Doni, while both the Orobici and Siena matches have been listed among the 18 that have raised suspicions.

“Go watch all the games and you'll realise this is a comical farce,” snapped Atalanta Coach Stefano Colantuono.
“The intercepted telephone calls say nothing about the results of our games, so the promotions of Atalanta and Siena are legitimate.
“Doni's involvement is absurd. He would never hurt Atalanta. This is a comical situation.”
Siena also denied the allegations, which some are calling a new Calciopoli, after suspicions over their 4-0 win against Sassuolo.
“We were dragged into the Calciopoli scandal too, but at the end of the day it was proved we had nothing to do with it,” said director of sport Giorgio Perinetti.
“I don't know what happened within Sassuolo, but we won that game against a side with many injuries and bans to deal with. We are relaxed, because Siena have nothing to do with all this.”
