Fiorentina boss Stefano Pioli says Davide Astori ‘always believed’ in the club’s new direction.
Fiorentina’s summer was marred by big sales and a perceived lack of interest from their owners, but on the back of six straight wins, Pioli spoke of how Astori saw past all the negativity, prior to tragically losing his life.
“Astori always believed in us,” the Coach told Radio Anch’io Sport.

“Astori always believed in us,” the Coach told Radio Anch’io Sport.
“He was one of the first people to believe in the new path we were taking and he committed himself to making his teammates grow.
“We want to give our all. We’re doing well, but there are still many games left to play and we must remain focused on our work.
“The team also played good football when Davide was alive. We weren’t consistent, but it was normal, considering the changes that had taken place.
“We’ve always tried to play with the right mentality, but now we’re more of a team, more mature and the results are coming,
“We’re bringing home the fruits of some very hard but positive work.”
