Premier League side Aston Villa have set their sights on Bologna full back Aaron Hickey.
The 19-year-old Scottish left back has been one of the breakout stars in Serie A this season, shining under coach Sinisa Mihajlovic at the Rossoblu. The teenager has scored five goals in 20 league appearances and has impressed both offensively and defensively.
As reported by the Birmingham Mail and confirmed by Tuttosport today, Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard has identified the 19-year-old Hickey as a strong option to reinforce his squad in next month’s transfer window.
The Premier League side have been paying close attention to the Scottish teenager, who has started all but one of Bologna’s Serie A matches this season, being an important player for Mihajlovic.
The former Hearts full back is contracted to the Rossoblu until 2024 and has an estimated market value of around €8m, making a deal fairly accessible for the English club.
