The Ghana international had already sustained a knee injury against Empoli” data-scaytid=”4″>Empoli at the weekend, but nonetheless pushed through the pain to play last night’s Champions League 3-2 victory over Olympiacos.

The club released a statement this evening confirming the inflammation in his knee has worsened and he will require 15 days of rest to fully recover.

It means Asamoah will not play again until after the break for international duty, missing Sunday’s Serie A game against Parma.

Patrice Evra is also out injured, so Max Allegri has few options on the left.
