The Ghana international is facing between six and eight weeks on the sidelines, as he awaits a procedure in Barcelona next week to rectify a problematic knee issue.

“We wanted to wait at least another week, but then the club decided to bring forward the timing and so on Tuesday we will fly to Barcelona,” Asamoah’s agent Claudio Vagheggi has told Tuttomercatoweb today.

“Recovery period? We wait for the operation, then we will better understand what the situation is.

“What I can say is that, knowing him, he will work to his maximum to return stronger than before and perhaps ahead of what will be the estimated recovery time.”
