Lazio have an agreement in place with Eintracht Frankfurt for Djibril Sow, but he asked for time to consider and now Arsenal have joined Sevilla in the fight for his signature.

Multiple sources last week said that Lazio shook hands with his club in a deal worth €15m plus bonuses, with the player offered a four-year contract worth €2.5m per season.

However, Switzerland international Sow asked for a few days to reflect and consider his next step, even after a phone call directly with coach Maurizio Sarri.

It was said at the time that Sevilla had made a similar offer and the 26-year-old wanted to take that into consideration.

Now there is even tougher competition for Lazio, because Calciomercato.it claim Arsenal are ‘aggressively’ in the fight and want to get Sow as well.

The report also states that Sarri himself is not entirely confident Sow is the right player to step in for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and that is holding up the move too.

His current contract with Eintracht Frankfurt only runs to June 2024 and they need a sale to avoid losing him as a free transfer, which is why they dropped the price from €20m to €15m.
