“I was contacted by Fiorentina directors and they asked for information on Arouca, so we are in negotiations,” agent Richard Alda told Globoesporte.
“There is a good chance he could make the move, but it all depends on what Santos decide to do.”
It is reported the price-tag on Arouca is around €6m and his current contract with Santos runs to 2014.
“I know that Santos have already received an initial proposal, but I cannot say what their intentions are.”
Arouca was signed from San Paolo last year for €3.5m.
