Manchester United winger Antony touched on his ‘very good relationship’ with Andre Onana as the Inter goalkeeper edges towards a move to the Red Devils.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian shot stopper is expected to leave the Nerazzurri after just a year to head to the Northwest of England, with negotiations between the two clubs seemingly entering their final stages.

Inter have set a €60m asking price on Onana and Manchester United’s latest offer is reported to be around €50m, so an agreement could be reached in the middle in the coming days.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Antony was asked about the idea of seeing Onana join him at Manchester United.

“I know him very well, we played together at Ajax. He is a great goalkeeper and a nice person.”

The Brazilian winger was then asked if he wanted the Red Devils to complete a deal with Inter for the goalkeeper.

“It’s not for me to say, because it’s the club’s decision and not mine. I can only say that he is definitely very strong. And that there is a very good relationship between us.”

Onana impressed in his debut season with Inter, quickly taking the starting role from long-term custodian Samir Handanovic.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper stood out in the Nerazzurri’s unexpected run to the Champions League final, keeping eight clean sheets in 13 matches.
