Legendary Fiorentina number ten Giancarlo Antognoni is set to make a return to the club as Vice President.
The 62-year-old ex-Captain will be free to leave his current position with the FIGC in January, and then will take up his position with the Viola, according to Corriere Fiorentino.
The club have been searching for a figure to fill a similar position to the one deployed by Javier Zanetti at Inter for some time, with Rui Costa previously one of the names linked to the VP spot.

The role will include ambassadorial work, but by employing a former player of such stature Fiorentina are said to be attempting to provide a link between the dressing room, fans and the club.
Antognoni is expected to be present at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday for the match with Sampdoria, where an official announcement could be made regarding the Vice Presidency.
