The Tuscan side were beaten by Sassuolo tonight – click here for a match report – but were down to 10-men when the equaliser came as the 20-year-old wasn’t ready to come on after an injury.

“We conceded goals when we were numerically inferior,” Andreazzoli lamented in his post-match interview with Sky, as Miha Zajc was also sent off.

“I went to the dressing room to wash my hands and I went out immediately because I saw that Bennacer was praying and it was an intimate moment.

“He went onto the pitch immediately after that and maybe that could have affected the incident but I didn’t feel like rushing him.”

Andreazzoli also reflected on the match as a whole.

“We need to grow a little bit because there were situations which then have an effect, like Zajc’s first booking where he slid in naively in the corner.

“The lads did well though, and – apart from the result – the match was positive.”
