“Three months ago I came back from an injury that kept me out for a good period of time,” the Brazilian explained to Fox Sports.

“I have improved and reached a high level, so I am very pleased to have overcome my physical problems and to have played well in recent matches.

“It has become normal to hear the rumours involving my name, especially after my second year here in Rome which was very positive.”

Anderson pointed out the need for him and his teammates to focus as they approach a criticial point in their season.

“As I always say, I am focused on Lazio, even more so given the important period the team is going through.

“We have a decisive Europa League match next week and we are in the battle for a Champions League place.

“We can’t lose our focus, the team needs to have the right attitude and work hard in order to get the best results.”
