“Galliani tried everything to convince him, but Carlo was stressed by the Real Madrid dismissal,” Bronzetti told Milan Channel, the official TV station of the club.
“He wavered a few times and I did not try to force his hand, because without motivation he would’ve only hurt Milan.
“Ancelotti did not think about money, though Galliani put everything at his disposal. We had started to talk about a few reinforcements, but Carlo didn’t feel up to it.
“I would not be surprised if a tear rolled down his cheek when he finally had to say no to Galliani.”
It is widely reported that ex-Sampdoria boss Sinisa Mihajlovic has already agreed personal terms and is in Milan waiting for tonight’s meeting with President Silvio Berlusconi.
Berlusconi has pledged to recreate a great Milan side, with or without new investors from China and Thailand.
“With Ancelotti, Milan could spend certain sums and I think they can spend them with another Coach too,” continued Bronzetti.
“At the end of the day, I am sure Milan will choose a good Coach.”
Among the big names linked with the Rossoneri if Ancelotti was to take over was Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“Ibrahimovic will certainly remain at PSG, that’s the news I get. He is in love with Milan, but will stay in France.”
