According to CalcioNapoli24, both Ancelotti and De Laurentiis then called their lawyers and want them in the building tonight so contracts can be drawn up and even signed.
The Maurizio Sarri era would seem to be well and truly over, as Napoli are no longer prepared to wait for him to make up his mind.
Sarri is also of interest to Chelsea and Zenit St Petersburg, but said he might take a year off.
Any contract with Ancelotti would be deposited from June 1, because the deal he has with Bayern Munich expires on May 31.
He was fired in September, but is still being paid until the contract runs out.
Ancelotti is believed to be agreeing a two-year deal with Napoli, that includes an option for a third.
