Carlo Ancelotti will replace Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager ahead of next season, according to reports in the UK.

The Italian has been out of work since being sacked by Bayern Munich, and had been linked with the Italy job.

However, Carletto ruled himself out of the role as CT and now Scottish newspaper the Daily Record is reporting that he’ll return to Stamford Bridge.

On the ‘Transfer Window Podcast’, Ian McGarry stated that Ancelotti will move back to London in February, having agreed to take the job for next season.

It’s even possible that he could take over mid-season if the Blues’ form takes a nosedive, but it’s more likely he’ll take over for the 2018-19 campaign.

Conte has dropped several hints that he wants to return to Italy, and the Record reports that Ancelotti has already held talks with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Abramovich is said to want a more tranquil figure on the bench.
