Carlo Ancelotti reacts to fresh reports linking him with the Brazil job insisting that he has a contract until 2024 with Real Madrid.

The Italian tactician is said to be the leading candidate to take over at the Seleçao after Tite was sacked following their World Cup exit in the quarter-finals in Qatar.

The latest report from O Globo claims the Brazilian FA is ready to meet Florentino Perez to discuss the possible appointment of the four-time Champions League winner.

“I have a contract until 2024, I don’t know what they say over there, I am not bothered,” Ancelotti said at a press conference on Friday, as quoted by Marca.

He had previously claimed that he would not leave Madrid before the end of his contract unless he was sacked.

The Merengues face Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup Final on Saturday.

“It’s a very important trophy, it’s very hard to get to this point”, said Ancelotti.

“Real Madrid respect all the Finals, it’s been a long path and I’ve asked my players to enjoy the game. Tomorrow’s winner will become World Champion and we want to win to boost our confidence for the future. It’s my sixth Final in 40 years, a game that doesn’t happen many times in life.

“Al-Hilal beat Flamengo, so we respect them, it’s a World Cup Final and one doesn’t get the chance to play these games many times.”

Ancelotti won the La Liga title and the Champions League last season, becoming the first coach to lift the Cup With The Big Ears four times as well as the only tactician to have won the domestic title in each of the top five European Leagues: Italy, England, Spain, France and Germany.

The Italian tactician also discussed the future of Karim Benzema whose contract in Madrid expires in the summer.

“Age must be taken into account, but Benzema is our No.9. He is doing well this season and will do well for us in the following campaign.”
