Assistant manager Davide Ancelotti admits Napoli end the season with “some regrets” at failing to win any silverware.
The Partenopei were made to work hard for this evening’s 2-1 victory away to SPAL, which further consolidated second place.
“We put in a fine performance, although we went a little too deep in the second half and suffered for 10-15 minutes, but then reacted to get back on track. I think we deserves that win,” Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia.

The son of Coach Carlo Ancelotti was asked about Allan, who scored a curler today, yet continues to be linked with Paris Saint-Germain.
“He is an extraordinary player who had an excellent season and even earned his first caps for Brazil. He was used in a bit of a new position today, but did very well there too and we are happy.”
Napoli were the subject of some fan protests last week, as they crashed out of the Champions League, Europa League and Coppa Italia, while Juventus won the Scudetto with over a month to spare.
“There are regrets that we didn’t win anything, but the team can play and will continue to entertain the fans next year. We’ve got to improve, and I think with a few adjustments we can do that.”
