Carlo Ancelotti believes Inter “could be a surprise this season” and Milan will “open another cycle”.

The former Rossoneri Coach is at Bayern Munich, but spoke to Sky about this season’s Serie A campaign.

Napoli and [Maurizio] Sarri are brilliant,” Ancelotti exclaimed.

“They lost [Gonzalo] Higuain, everyone was desolate but they found a striker like [Arkadiusz] Milik who is scoring a lot of goals.

“Juve are strong and experienced, they’ve made a lot of changes but they still have an impressive strength. Then there’s [Coach Max] Allegri’s experience, he’s used to managing everything.

“Inter could be a surprise this season, everyone had given them up for dead, but not me. That’s not because I’m psychic, but because motivation is important.

“They looked like a team in disarray, and instead they came up with a terrific performance against Juve, which means there is quality in the Coach [Frank de Boer] and players.

“As for Milan, they’ve closed once cycle and another will open. But with Berlusconi the most successful cycle in the history of football is ending.

“He was President for 30 years and led the club to a point where it couldn’t go any higher. I had the best times of my life as a player and as a Coach at Milan, so for him I only have one word: thanks.

“[Vincenzo] Montella is very good, I know how he works so just give him time. I can’t say what results he’ll get, but I know he’ll get the best from his players.”
